Hyaluronic acid can be used to restore volume to lips that are losing their curve or to restore Cupid's bow using a medium density texture.
The cheekbone or cheek can be deep filled with thicker textures. Polylactic acid can be a good alternative in these indications because of its particularly interesting volumizing qualities.
The resulting fibrosis reaction allows for a longer persistence (12 to 24 months) of the volumizing effect.
These injections should be given sparingly to avoid overcorrections.
Alternatives
Autologous fat transfer is a very promising alternative.
The development of micro-fat transfer techniques has made it possible to use the fatty tissue of patients (true fatty autografts) for volumizing purposes (cheekbone, cheek) almost permanently.
These micro reinjections can be offered under local anesthesia most often.
