This beautification surgery, which gives natural results, has no functional role (hearing), but has a role of correcting ear abnormalities by remodeling the cartilage of the pinna of the ear.
This intervention is most often bilateral, but can also be unilateral when only one of the ears is affected, inducing a troublesome asymmetry.

It is perfectly possible to have an otoplasty in adolescence or adulthood.
A strong demand in children triggers the intervention. Motivation and psychological pain resulting from school mockery may justify intervention.
Our preferences: protruding ears
Surgery repairs abnormalities in the atrial cartilage by shaping it, repositioning it and possibly reducing it.
The indication of an otoplasty can arise from the age of 7 years, age when the child can consider his ears as unsightly and fear the mockery of other children. The growth of the ear must be sufficient for the correction to be lasting.
Protruding ears often provoke teasing from others, a social embarrassment that can lead to withdrawing into oneself or reducing social contact.
